Bravo Company was the first unit in the 1st Cavalry Division to receive a Valorous Unit Citation.
This award was for an action northeast of An Khe on 19 May 1966 and it was a streamer embroidered “BINH DINH PROVINCE”.
 


Award of the Valarous Unit Citation to Bravo Company by Commanding General 1st. Cavalry Division, General John Tolson, February 1968.
 

General Tolson and on his left, our Battalion Commander, LTC Howard Petty,
who was killed on 15 March 1968.
